College of Physicians & Surgeons (CPS) Courses
The College of Physicians & Surgeons (CPS), Mumbai, holds courses for various diplomas and degrees and takes regular lectures. Holy Family Hospital was accredited by the CPS to conduct the Diploma in DCH (2010), DA and D-Ortho (2012).

Teaching Programme at Holy Family Hospital
  • The teaching programme at Holy Family Hospital includes lectures, seminars, a journal club, clinics and case presentations.
  • The hospital conducts Grand Rounds on the third Wednesday of every month with case presentations and discussions by students.
  • There are morbidity and mortality discussions, discipline-wise, on a monthly basis.
  • On the last Saturday of every month, a CME on a topic of current clinical interest by senior teachers / consultants / outside speakers of repute is held.


  • Admission for DCH, DA and D-Ortho courses
    The hospital has two posts per six-month term, i.e. February and August for DCH and DA and one post per term for D-Ortho. Posts are advertised in December and June. Candidates must work as full-time residents for 24 months, which includes 6 months in an allied post in community medicine. In addition, candidates must attend a series of lectures at the CPS in Parel, Mumbai, on payment of a fee.

    The hospital advertises its first post in June and the second in December. Interviews are held mid-July and mid-January. Candidates are interviewed and selected according to norms laid down by the CPS.

    Forms are available at the hospital Help Desk immediately after the post is advertised and on payment of a fee. The form should be legibly filled out and a photo attached. Every application should be accompanied by attested copies of the following certificates:
    1. Ist MBBS Marksheet
    2. IInd MBBS Marksheet
    3. IIIrd MBBS Marksheet
    4. Attempt certificate at Ist, IInd, IIIrd MBBS
    5. Internship Completion Certificate
    6. MBBS Passing Certificate
    7. Maharashtra Medical Council / Medical Council of India registration
    8. Any experience, academic award, extra-curricular prize/award certificate
    9. Certificates of paper presentations at a conference/seminar/or published

    Students receive a stipend Rs 20,000, Rs.20,500, Rs.21,000 and Rs.21,500 for four terms respectively with free accommodation.
